How to manage area measurements for rental units

A rental unit is a residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use or else property that is leased to tenants in exchange for periodic payments, usually on a monthly basis. Rental units can include apartments, houses, condominiums, townhouses, retail spaces, offices, and other types of properties that are intended for occupancy by tenants.

You can access rental units on BuildingMinds Platform under Digital twin, Rental units .

Access area measurement for rental units

  1. Select the digital twin object from the geographical area  or search bar.

  2. Click on Digital twin .

  3. Click the tab Rental units.

  4. Click on the name of the rental unit in the list.

  5. Go to Area measurements tab.

    Note

    In the list you will see the basic information about each area measurement, such as area type and value.

Add area measurement for rental units

  1. Select the digital twin object from the geographical area  or search bar.

  2. Click on Digital twin .

  3. Click the tab Rental units.

  4. Click on the name of the rental unit in the list.

  5. Go to Area measurements tab.

  6. Click on +Add on the top right corner within the list.

  7. Fill out all the mandatory fields marked with a (*).

  8. Click Add to save.

    The newly added area measurement is available in the list.

Display area measurement for rental units

To display a single area measurement within the rental unit, follow the instructions below:

  1. Select the digital twin object from the geographical area  or search bar.

  2. Click on Digital twin.

  3. Click the tab Rental units.

  4. Click on the name of the rental unit in the list.

  5. Go to Area measurements tab.

  6. Click on the area type of the area measurement you wish to display and view the information.

Edit area measurement for rental units

  1. Select the digital twin object from the geographical area  or search bar.

  2. Click on Digital twin.

  3. Click the tab Rental units.

  4. Click on the name of the rental unit in the list.

  5. Go to Area measurements tab.

  6. Click on the area type of the relevant area measurement.

  7. Click on Edit button.

  8. Edit the data.
    Note: If any mandatory information is removed, it will not be possible to save the entry.

  9. Click Save.

    The changes are saved and available in the display form.

Delete area measurement for rental units

  1. Select the digital twin object from the geographical area  or search bar.

  2. Click on Digital twin .

  3. Click the tab Rental units.

  4. Click on the name of the rental unit in the list.

  5. Go to Area measurements tab.

  6. Tick the checkbox next to the area measurement you wish to delete.

  7. Click ... to delete the selected entry or entries.

  8. Confirm deletion.
    The rental unit has been deleted and removed from the list.

Caution

Permissions are applied in line with the building access.

Example:
If you don't have edit permissions for a building, you will not be able to edit the area measurement of its rental unit.

When you add, edit or delete an area measurement, this change is reflected directly in the reports.
