On the Buildings page, you’ll find the core real estate assets in your portfolio. Each building includes its key characteristics, energy details, address information, and any optional data you add later, such as images, custom attributes, or area measurements. You can add buildings from the Buildings overview page and edit them on their detail page.
You have two ways to access your buildings:
Option 1: View all buildings in your portfolio
1. Select the Data management icon from the left menu.
2. Choose Buildings in the menu.
Option 2: View buildings for a specific site
1. Select the Data management icon from the left menu.
2. Pick the site you want from the list.
3. In the site overview, select a building from the Buildings section.
You can add a new building by selecting + Add on the Buildings list page or from the Buildings section in a site overview page. When you start creating a building, a form opens with the following sections:
Object information
This section contains the essential details about your building:

Year of refurbishment
Parking spaces
Electric vehicle charging stations
Monument protection
Expected life and date
Fossil fuel exposure
Final building permit application status
Energy information
You can add high-level details about the building’s energy profile. These attributes help support sustainability reporting and energy assessments:
Primary electricity source
Primary water type
Primary heating source
Secondary heating source
Air conditioning
Address
This section lets you enter the building’s official address. Adding this information ensures the building appears correctly on maps and supports downstream data processes:
Country
City
Street
ZIP code
Once you’ve set up a building, new sections open up on the building’s detail page. These help you add more context and manage important information:
Images: Upload facade photos or other visuals.
Custom Attributes: Add portfolio-specific details defined in your tenant-wide custom schema.
Area Measurements: Review and manage the building’s areas, such as GFA, NRA, or rentable area.
You can edit each of these sections directly from the building’s detail view.
When you select a building from the Building list, you’ll land on the Building information page. This page is organized into cards, each grouped by topic:
Object information
Address
Additional information
Energy information
Images
Area measurements
Custom attributes
Each card can be edited on its own. Just click the three-dot icon on the card you want to update. This way, you can keep your building data structured and only change what’s needed, without having to work through long forms.
You can remove a building directly from the Buildings list page using the delete icon in the row. A building can only be deleted if it isn’t linked to other objects (like rental units or meters). If there are dependencies, you’ll need to take care of those first.
To delete a building:
Go to the list of buildings.
Hover over the row of the building you want to delete.
Click the Delete icon at the end of the row.
Confirm the deletion.
The Building feature is protected by permissions that control what you can see and do. These permissions are set up in the Admin Panel by the administrator.
Permissions are managed for each building individually, so different buildings can have different access levels.
To add a new building, you need Full permissions for the site it belongs to.
Permission Level | Access Details |

Full permissions | You have full access to the building. The Edit and Delete buttons are both visible. |
