Custom Structure

To change the way the list Custom Structure looks in the Filter Portfolio section, you can use the Custom Structure feature.

This feature lets you, as an administrator, create and manage custom structures. You can fully customize how they look and decide what they include, in any tree format you prefer.

Any changes you make to the structure in the Admin Panel are automatically reflected in the Filter Portfolio window.

Manage a structure

Creating and managing a structure is done through two menu options: Types and Hierarchy.

  • In Types, you create the items for your list, assign the correct type, and define which items belong under it.

  • Then, go to Hierarchy to arrange how the list will look. Here, you decide the order and placement of groups and subgroups to match the structure you need.

Types

On the Types page, you can see all available types, both system and custom.

  • System types are created automatically and cannot be deleted.

  • Custom types are the ones created by you, and they let you define which items are permitted to be placed under them.

Add a new type

When adding a new type, you also need to define which items are permitted to be placed under it. To do this correctly:

  1. Create all the items you want to include first (the ones that will appear under this type).

  2. Then, assign those items to the main type so they become part of its group.

This way, your structure will follow the correct hierarchy and everything will be organized as intended.

Edit a type

You can update an existing type later to include more permitted items by hovering over the row and clicking the edit icon to open the edit window.

Delete a type

When deleting a type, keep the following in mind:

  • You can delete custom types, but system types cannot be deleted.

  • If a custom type is still used in the hierarchy, you must first remove all related items from the structure before deleting it.

Hierarchy

The Hierarchy page is where you arrange how your custom structure looks. You can expand the full tree and organize groups and subgroups in the order you need.

hierarchy
  • You can add an item under another group as long as that group allows it.

  • If a group doesn’t allow any items under it, you won’t be able to add more.

  • You can only delete items that don’t have anything under them.

  • The system shows only the types that are permitted under the selected group.
